Stations of the outdoor scavenger hunt

Each station presents the players with a special task. Whoever proves their ability and finds the solution moves on to the next station.

Only those who solve 7 tasks (all except the voluntary Gifpfelsturm to Hutberg) have successfully completed the scavenger hunt.

RULES OF PLAY

This is how you take part in the competition:

The scavenger hunt can be played with the poacher's trail folder (game plan).

1. courage & strength

Get an insight into the boxes!

You will find wooden boxes scattered around the flat woodland. If you look through their coloured openings, you can see numbers. These numbers must be entered in the same-coloured boxes on the game board. They form the solution code for the first task.

But be careful, it's not that easy to get to the boxes. Courage and strength are required here. Can you also get the number in the highest box?

For parents: If necessary, help your child to find the boxes. Secure your child when climbing and prevent overly reckless actions. Check that the equipment is working properly. Use at your own risk. Let your child feel the challenge without exposing them to too much risk.

2. orientation

Find the hidden rabbits ...

You will find little rabbits hidden in the wood. They mark orientation points. If you stand over them and look around, you can discover numbers on the trees. Bend down, stretch out, turn in circles, some are small and very close, others are huge and far away.

Each rabbit is marked with a colour code. This defines the colour of the field on the folder in which the number is to be entered. Four numbers make up the solution code for the second task.

One number per colour field is enough, but don't make it too easy for yourself. If there is more than one solution, take the one that was harder to find.

3. intuition

Feel the objects!

There is a feeling box at the edge of the forest. Objects are depicted on a sign in a coloured field. You can feel these objects in the numbered holes in the feeling box.

Once you have found the object, enter the number of the hole in the corresponding coloured field on the game board. Together, the numbers give you the solution code for the third task.

Prove your intuition! Approach the objects carefully. They can be surprising or confusing. Get an overview. If there are several numbers for a field, enter the more difficult solution.

4. foresight

Find the animals in the woods and fields ...

There is a lookout slightly off the path . From here, you can look out over the forest and fields with binoculars.

If you look carefully, you will find:

  • tawny owl
  • badger
  • marten
  • fox
  • chamois
  • Woodpecker
  • Capercaillie
  • Squirrel
  • Brown bear
  • red deer

as shown on a sign at the station. The colour of the field on the sign together with the number on the animal in the forest provide the solution code for the game board.

Make an effort, because only those who find the small animals and solve difficult tasks will prove their foresight.

5. acumen

Recognise the tracks on the forest floor!

Various animals have left tracks in the nearby woodland. Look for the tracks and match them to an animal on the sign by the side of the path.

The number next to the tracks - together with the colour of the correct animal on the sign - provides the solution code for the fifth task on the game board.

You need to be sharp and not just look for the easiest solutions.

6. endurance

Climb the summit ...

The steep path takes you to the Hutberg. This task is optional, but compulsory for the best players.

Game map users can find the solution number for the sixth task.

Enjoy the view and then descend slowly and safely.

For parents: The path to the Hutberg is steep, but well secured. The ascent takes about 20 minutes. Please accompany your child, pace yourself and point out the dangers. Timekeeping only applies to the ascent and not the descent. Enjoy the view and take your time!
