An experience not just for railroad enthusiasts—and back on the schedule thanks to its success during the first two years of TAVOLATA: Austria’s oldest 760 mm narrow-gauge railway chugs through beautiful floodplain landscapes—just like in the good old days—with plenty of photo opportunities, starting from the local station in Steyr, passing the pilgrimage site of Christkindl, and ending in picturesque Aschach an der Steyr. There, at the nostalgic train station, Georg Baumgartner, owner of the Christkindlwirt, awaits guests with the finest finger food specialties from the classic Austrian cuisine of his hotel restaurant.
