Things to know about piste walking in 360° Alpenland

Piste touring is a special form of ski touring in which the ascents take place on groomed ski pistes. It combines the experience of a ski tour with the safety and infrastructure of a ski area.

There are clear rules of conduct for skiing on the Wurzeralm to ensure that all guests are safe. The pistes may only be used in the designated areas and the respective piste opening times must be adhered to. The ascent track is clearly signposted throughout and leads reliably uphill. Important: For safety reasons, piste walking is not permitted on the Gammering descent.

Attention: Skiing on groomed pistes in Hinterstoder is strictly prohibited all day - day and night.

Due to the narrow and steep pistes, there is an acute risk of accidents and danger to life, especially when using piste machines with cable winches. This work is carried out without additional hazard protection.

Please note: There is no liability for accidents.

Ski touring is permitted on the marked routes on the Wurzeralm during regular operating hours. Night tours are permitted on certain days (Wednesdays) until 22:00.

Ski touring skis with skins and suitable safety equipment are recommended for piste touring. For tours in the evening, a headlamp and reflective clothing ensure better visibility and additional safety.

The mountain railway at the Wurzeralm offers a piste walking ticket for ski tourers, which allows them to ski on the groomed slopes of the Wurzeralm. This ticket includes the piste ascent track (up to 5 times), use of the piste, car park and sanitary facilities.

Night tours under a full moon are not offered in the region. Evening skiing is only possible on Wednesdays.
