Christmas romance is guaranteed—the beautiful market square, with its large Christmas tree, impressive Advent wreath, and historic nativity scene exhibition, delights visitors of all ages.

Admire the Christmas nativity scenes, listen to the festive music, or simply enjoy a mug of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, pastries, spiral-cut potatoes, game products, or smoked fish amid the festive and cheerful bustle of the market square—that’s the Windischgarsten Advent Market.

Handcrafted items, wooden decorations, alpaca and clay products, as well as knitted goods, wax items, and Christmas decorations round out the selection of goods for sale.

On Friday, December 5, Windischgarsten will serve as the stage for the historic Niglo Parade (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage). Starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Windischgarsten market square.

Visitors arriving by public transportation can look forward to receiving a Pyhrn-Priel seat pad.
