Colorful Holidays for the Whole Family

The Grubbach House is located just outside the village center of Spital am Pyhrn on a hill, surrounded by woods and nature, and is inhabited by my family.

Here you will find the ideal spot for people who appreciate and love children and seclusion. The location allows children to play undisturbed in nature while parents indulge in relaxation. A stream flows through the property, bringing us the soothing sounds of water and a wide variety of nature.

The farm is also directly connected to the cycling and hiking trail network of Spital am Pyhrn, making it easy to start a pleasant route directly to the Hofalm, Bosruckhütte, Gowidlalm, and Rohrauerhaus. The Vogelgesang Gorge is just around the corner as well.

The house offers two holiday apartments of different sizes.

  • Apartment "Paula" is a spacious apartment of about 80 m2 with two bedrooms and a balcony.
  • Apartment "Noah" is a very practical apartment of about 55 m2 with one bedroom and its own garden access.

Features

Both apartments have a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, and ceramic cooktop. In the separate bathroom, a shower awaits its use, and the separate toilet offers pleasant privacy where desired.

A parking space is reserved for each apartment in the covered carport.

For those who would like to stay connected to the outside world despite the seclusion, there is free Wi-Fi (which may not meet the usual speed standards but is sufficient for casual users). However, there is no television. Instead, there are various games and books for both young and old.

Additional Services

So that our guests can check in conveniently and at any time, we have installed a very simple SELF CHECK-IN system. A personal check-in is only possible upon request. For the activation of the self-check-in, it is necessary to send an online form completed by the day BEFORE arrival to the accommodation.

And as if that weren't enough, all guests of our house receive the very popular Pyhrn-Priel Activity Card exclusively from spring to autumn, which offers many free or discounted entries to the most popular places in our region.

Sleeping in a Tent or Under the Stars

The "Noah" apartment offers ideal conditions for children's first camping or tent-sleeping experiences with its own garden access. We have two tents of different sizes available on-site, which can be borrowed - including a sleeping pad and sleeping bag. For those who would like to gain even more nature experiences, they can also sleep directly at our campfire site or simply in the meadow with a sleeping pad and sleeping bag provided by us, being close to nature and its life.

Stand Up Paddling or Sledding

No matter if summer or winter: It always feels great to slide on the water. Whether through one’s own paddling power or the swift runners is irrelevant. Both can be rented on-site with us.

"Back to Me" Timeout

Sometimes a timeout from everyday life can realign focus and rebalance imbalances. It is the individual’s task and responsibility to create a satisfying and pleasant life for themselves. In this way, one serves oneself, the community, and our descendants. Places like the Grubbach House exist for this purpose. Places that open your space. Your own space for healing and development. The space for your own magic.

The timeout is accompanied with advice from Martina Reiter (life and social counselor in training and under supervision and much more :-)).

The living room leads to the ground-level terrace with direct access to the garden. The apartment was renovated in 2022 (except for the bathroom and toilet). The apartment is in the main house. Accessibility / arrival

Directions by car:

Please take the "Spital am Pyhrn" highway exit on the A9. Turn left (B138) and follow the signs to "Spital am Pyhrn." After approximately 1.5 km, you will arrive at a distinctive intersection in the center of the village (Gemeindeamt Spital am Pyhrn). Here please turn right onto Weinmeisterstraße. At the end of the street, turn right onto "Sonnenhang." Follow the signs to "Sonnenhang 73" by turning left shortly afterwards.

Public transportation:

There is a train station in Spital am Pyhrn, which can be easily reached from the major cities in Austria. Transfers between the train station and Haus Grubbach are gladly organized upon request.

Self Check-In:

In order for our guests to check in conveniently and at any time, we have installed a very simple SELF CHECK-IN system. A personal check-in is only available upon request. To activate the self-check-in, it is necessary to submit an online form filled out by no later than the day BEFORE arrival to the accommodation.

Self Check-Out:

Flexible self check-out is possible. This allows early departures before 8:00 a.m.

We only took over our farm from the previous owners in winter 2021 and are very happy to have the opportunity to live and live in the middle of nature. Much is gradually being redesigned and adapted to our needs. Our wish is to create an inviting and creative place to stay. The exchange with people and animals is very important to us and the implementation of new ideas is our hobby.
