Small but impressive, always striving to provide cultural experiences at the highest level as a local cultural provider: Since spring 1985, the cultural center AKKU has been active – delivering cultural work that is as creative as it is innovative and international. This is the standard we set for ourselves and continually strive to meet. Our venue is – as a backyard theater – not only a place of events but also a training facility.

We: This is a small team of culture-enthusiastic activists, who largely work on a voluntary basis and who – at least so far – can look forward to significant support from many similarly culture-enthusiastic supporters.

Awards and Honors:
1997: Grand State Prize for Initiative Cultural Work of the Province of Upper Austria
2000: Inclusion in the worldwide training network of Taal Yogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar
2001: Integration Award of the City of Steyr
2002: "AKKU goes India" – India tour with the original production "Rhythm Collage" International scholarships and awards for many graduates of our talent promotion.
