Taborturm

Steyr, Oberösterreich, Österreich

The Tabor Tower (above St. Michael's Church) was built in the 15th century. A staircase and, since 2020, a panoramic lift with a great viewing terrace lead to this beautiful vantage point. The tower was originally part of the city fortifications and later a fire watch tower.

The Taborturm is one of the most famous landmarks of the city of Steyr and offers an impressive view over the historic old town as well as the confluence of Enns and Steyr. The tower, built in the 15th century, was originally part of the medieval city fortifications and later served as a fire watchtower. Today, it combines historic architecture with modern use and is among the most popular viewpoints in the city.
