St. Nicholas Chape

Adlwang, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Saint Nicholas Chapel and Holy Spring (Power Place)

The Nikolaus Chapel was built in 1987, one of the "small sanctuaries" in this area. The chapel is a reminder of the former St. Nicholas Church, which was located nearby from 1180 to 1792. The church's sacristan house still exists. On its back side, there is a presumably Celtic hole stone that indicates a pre-Christian cult tradition. There is also an old well, over which a small chapel used to stand. Regular devotions take place in the chapel. Around St. Nicholas Eve, a charming lantern walk from Adlwang to the Nikolaus Chapel takes place.
