Lady Agnes and the Mystery of the Poisoned Scones
English Country House Mystery
The idyllic Rosewood Manor has turned into a chaotic construction site. To escape the noise and dust of the extensive renovations, the headstrong Lady Agnes accompanies her cook, Grace, to a baking competition in Upper Foxbury. But instead of award-winning tea cakes, there’s a dead body: Gourmet critic Simon Mitchell collapses after enjoying a scone. Who is responsible for the death of the “Master of Humiliation”? Needless to say, Lady Agnes and her butler Henderson won’t let this criminal case pass them by. After all, they must also prove Grace’s innocence.
Helen Herbst was born in 1980 in the Waldviertel region, where she still lives today with her family. As a physical therapist at a neurological rehabilitation center, she frequently encounters serious and life-changing situations. Perhaps that’s why she constantly seeks out the humorous moments in life that bring strength and joy. Through her books, she hopes to give her readers hours of relaxation and entertainment.
The crime fiction reading with Helen Herbst is part of the “Krimivember” festival.
The venue is the Wolfern Municipal Office (4493 Wolfern, Kirchenplatz 5). The event is organized by the AKKU Cultural Center, the Wolfern Library, “kultur:verein(t)” Wolfern, and a project group from HLW Steyr.
