Music School Festival at the Wurzeralm — 50 Years of the State Music School

Following last year’s success, this year’s musical highlight of the Mountain Summer will take place again on June 27, 2027, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On the plaza in front of the mountain station, at the Linzerhaus, at the Sonnalm, and at the Wiederlechner Hütte, various ensembles from the music schools in Windischgarsten, Spital am Pyhrn, Hinterstoder, Molln, Grünburg, and Steinbach an der Steyr will fill the alpine landscape with beautiful music.

A musical medley awaits all guests: the program will feature modern, classical, and traditional pieces.

Through the selected pieces, the young musicians will showcase their versatility and a cross-section of their skills—all against a breathtaking backdrop.You can look forward to various facets of folk music, ranging from string ensembles, dance music, Styrian folk music, and rare sounds like the Schwegel to orchestral arrangements, trumpets, and horn ensembles. Musically, the performances span a range from traditional sounds to popular, swing-style saxophone melodies, pop-inspired vocals, and groovy percussion ensembles.
