Nativity scenes in Christkindl

In the Christkindl parish office, two remarkable crib rarities are on display:
In the mechanical nativity scene by Karl Klauda (1855 - 1939), nearly 300 figures carved from linden wood move through a detailed biblical landscape thanks to a unique mechanism.
Pöttmesser Nativity Scene at the Christkindl Parish Court
With 58 square meters and over 700 beautifully carved and dressed figures by South Tyrolean Ferdinand Pöttmesser (1895 – 1977), the Pöttmesser nativity scene is one of the largest nativity scenes in the world. The landscape was lovingly crafted later on by Josef Seidl from Steyr.

Plan at least 1 hour for your visit to Christkindl (church/nativity/post office) during the pre-Christmas season!
Also take advantage of the quieter time between Christmas and January 6th!
Advance registration is absolutely required for groups!

Included Service: During the year, the pilgrimage church can be visited from the outside, and access to the church is possible up to the barrier.
In the church tours, the nativity displays, and in the Christkindl shop, all work on a voluntary basis.
Registration with the parish office is absolutely necessary for all groups.

Parking spaces directly in front of the church and at the crib building are subject to a charge (one hour free, each additional hour € 1.00). The parking machine is located at the parking lot opposite the pilgrimage church Christkindl. Free large parking lot in the immediate vicinity.
