The most important composer of Upper Austria was Anton Bruckner who often visited Steyr in the summer.

Spending his time in the parsonage he worked on composing his 8th and 9th symphony there. He especially liked playing the Chrisman organ at the parish church. Steyr Bruckner Boys´ Choir.
