Getting to Steyr – by car, bus and train
----------------------------------------

Anyone travelling to Steyr will quickly sense its special setting amidst the 360° Alpine landscape. Nestled amongst town houses and river valleys, just a few steps from the railway station, a cultural holiday in Upper Austria gets off to a very relaxed start. For those travelling to Steyr, there are central multi-storey car parks, short-stay parking zones around the town square and free parking areas such as the Reithoffer site. From there, you can reach the historic centre in just a few minutes’ walk. Steyr railway station is close to the city centre and offers easy connections by train and bus for city breaks, hiking holidays or cycling holidays in the Alps.

Travelling by public transport

Travelling by train and bus:

Steyr is easily accessible by **train and bus**. Steyr Central Station offers regular services **from Linz, St. Valentin and Kleinreifling**. Via St. Valentin, there is an excellent connection to the Westbahn line and thus to **cities such as Vienna, Salzburg and Munich**.

From the main station, you can easily **walk to the old town**. Via the footbridge crossing the River Enns, you can reach the town square and the historic centre of Steyr in about **five minutes’ walk**.

Thanks to its compact size, Steyr is ideal for exploring on foot. For longer journeys within the city, the city bus routes offer a convenient and straightforward alternative.
