Route | Maps
------------

### Plan your pilgrimage and be inspired by the Sebaldusweg!

The trail combines nature and culture in a tranquil way. Alpine sections with views of striking peaks give way to wooded stages in the Kalkalpen National Park before the landscape opens up along the rivers. Small chapels, historic town centres and traditional crafts accompany the route time and again. The result is a route that not only collects kilometres, but also opens up spaces - between mountain feeling, cultural diversity and places of power.

Detailed hiking maps and digital GPX data are available for safe and conscious planning.

[continue reading ](javascript:void())The pilgrimage map is available at the tourist information centres in 360° Alpenland and as a download for mobile devices. The digital version enables easy navigation via smartphone or GPS device - particularly helpful in wooded sections of the Kalkalpen National Park.

For those who prefer an analogue version, the printed map is a reliable backpack companion - clearly laid out and supplemented with background information on the history and communities along the way.

This leaves your eyes free for the essentials: for walking at your own pace, for encounters along the way and for those moments of mindfulness that characterise the Sebaldusweg - characterised by authenticity and mindfulness.

The Sebaldusweg trail invites you on a special pilgrimage through the impressive natural landscape of the Enns Valley in 360° Alpine country.

Ideally, plan four daily stages: from Großraming via Losenstein to Laussa, from there on to Maria Neustift on the second day. The third day takes you to Gaflenz, from where you start on the fourth day and then head to Weyer via the special place of power on the Heiligenstein, before returning to the starting point, for the most part alongside the emerald-green Enns.

Along the way, you can expect spiritual places of power that invite you to pause for a moment, as well as seven churches, two pilgrimage churches, 30 chapels and numerous natural treasures that will enrich your journey.

The start is flexible: you can start at any point along the route and personalise your pilgrimage. A variant with three daily stages is available for ambitious pilgrims.

Interviews on the topic of appreciation
---------------------------------------

### A project of the BBS Weyer

The path of appreciation - this topic was addressed by pupils in a project. They conducted interviews with people from professions that sometimes receive little appreciation. Along the way, these interviews are called up from signs with QR codes and encourage pilgrims to reflect. The approximately two-minute interviews provide interesting suggestions and views on the different perspectives of different people on the topic of appreciation.

If you would like to take a closer look at the topic of appreciation before the pilgrimage, you can listen to the interviews in advance below.

Cycle pilgrimage on the Sebaldusweg
-----------------------------------

**Between tranquil mountain churches and vast nature in 360° Alpine country**

Be on the move and find yourself - the Sebaldusweg combines cycling pilgrimages with nature experiences. You cycle through the valleys around the **Kalkalpen National Park**, through the **Eisenwurzen** to the **Mostviertel**. Churches, small mountain chapels and quiet places of power accompany you along the way and invite you to pause for a moment.

Whether alone or in a group: this star-shaped tour thrives on the alternation of pedalling and resting. Take a deep breath, organise your thoughts, drink water - and continue. The impulses of the stages have a lasting effect and give you **clarity and inner peace**.

Frequently asked questions about the Sebaldsuweg:
-------------------------------------------------

[ Where exactly is the Sebaldusweg? ](#ttgNCECollapse453177)
---------------------------------------------------------------

The Sebaldus Trail leads through the Upper Austrian Enns Valley in 360° Alpine country from Großraming via Losenstein, Laussa, Maria Neustift and Gaflenz to Weyer, over the hills and heights of the Kalkalpen National Park.

[ How many stages are there and which one is suitable for me? ](#ttgNCECollapse453178)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are two variants:

- 4-day stages (approx. 20-23 km each)
- 3-day stages (approx. 27-30 km each)

We generally recommend completing the 4-day stages, but if you feel physically ready, you can also complete the 3-day stages.

[ Is the Sebaldus Trail suitable for beginners? ](#ttgNCECollapse453179)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The trail is moderately difficult and requires a good basic level of fitness. Beginners should prepare themselves well.

[ Where is the entrance to the Sebaldusweg? ](#ttgNCECollapse453180)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

In principle, you can start anywhere along the route. Most people get on in Großraming, as this is where stage 1 begins. If you book a package, you can spend the night at any package holiday accommodation and cover the route as you wish with the help of the shuttle.

 [ Is there a shuttle bus? ](#ttgNCECollapse453181)
-----------------------------------------------------

From April to the beginning of November, we offer the Sebaldusweg Shuttle, a shuttle service that runs along the Sebaldusweg communities on weekdays as required and at weekends according to a timetable.

Transport is included for our guests when booking an overnight stay package.

[ Where can I park? Is parking free of charge? ](#ttgNCECollapse453182)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are 6 free public car parks:

Großraming: Public car parks behind the regional music school or at the former Salzwimmer inn

Losenstein: Public car parks at the train station or at the Blasl family inn

Laussa: Public car parks opposite the Baumgartner department stores'

Maria Neustift: Public car park on the left behind the municipal office

Gaflenz: Public car parks at the municipal office, outdoor pool

Weyer: Kreuzberg car park

[ How is the path signposted? Can I find my way around easily? ](#ttgNCECollapse453183)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Sebaldusweg is very well signposted with clear markings and signposts. If you want to be well prepared for the trail in advance, we recommend purchasing a hiking map.

[ Do I need any special equipment? ](#ttgNCECollapse453184)
--------------------------------------------------------------

We recommend good hiking boots, weatherproof clothing and hiking poles. Don't forget your sun cream either, as the trail is very sunny in places. We also recommend a "first aid kit" consisting of rotting handkerchiefs.

[ Are there special offers or guided pilgrimage tours? ](#ttgNCECollapse453185)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, guided pilgrimage tours are offered from time to time, and there are several pilgrim guides in the region. If you are interested, simply contact the tourist office at [reichraming@360alpenland.com.](mailto:reichraming@steyr-nationalpark.at?subject=Anfragen%20Pilgerbegleitung%20Sebaldusweg "Anfragen Pilgerbegleitung")

[ Are there refreshment stops along the way? ](#ttgNCECollapse453186)
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, there are. However, most of them are located directly in the town centres and there are only a few places to stop off along the stages. It is generally advisable to research the opening hours of the establishments in advance. Along the way, there are always fountains with drinks where thirsty pilgrims can quench their thirst.

[ What are the advantages of an overnight stay flat rate? ](#ttgNCECollapse453187)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you book an overnight package, you have many included services at your disposal:

- Daily transfer from your accommodation to the respective entry points, as well as pick-up from the stage destinations
- 1 souvenir
- My personal pilgrimage diary
- Catering included: Breakfast or half board

[ Where can I get a map of the Sebaldus Trail? Is there also a stamp pass? ](#ttgNCECollapse453188)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maps and other information material are available from the local tourist offices or can be ordered online on our website. The stamp pass can be found on the penultimate page of the Sebaldusweg brochure.

[ Where can I get the stamps for my stamp pass? ](#ttgNCECollapse453189)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

- In the Laussa behind the parish church
- In the Maria Neustift pilgrimage church
- In Gaflenz in front of the municipal office

[ Are there toilets and drinking water sources along the way? ](#ttgNCECollapse453190)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is advisable to use the public toilets in the town centres. There are very few options during the stages. There are plenty of sources of drinking water and places to buy drinks, even outside the town centres along the route.
