**Behind her, the mountain** —Anna grows up in the Austrian mountains—at a time when the world is falling apart. Little by little, the events of world history begin to make themselves felt in village life: The annexation by the Third Reich, the creeping changes in people’s *thoughts* and actions, the approaching war—and the shadeless figures passing by the houses. And then there is Anna, seventy years later, at the end of her life, gradually withdrawing from the world. Yet she still hears those footsteps.
Sigi Decker will provide musical accompaniment for the evening.
