This "Rolling Nativity," built into a wagon of the ÖBB, was a promotional vehicle during the Advent season in 1992 and 1997 for the ORF fundraising campaign "Light into Darkness" traveling through Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, and Germany. Both nativity scenes will surely delight both young and old with their richness of characters and details. The Baroque nativity from Schloss Lamberg, along with its precious figure collection, belongs to the family estate of Josef Graf Lamberg. It was handed over to the Stadtmuseum Steyr in 1914 by his wife Anna, the daughter of weapon factory founder Josef Werndl. Today, the valuable collection includes more than 200 dressed figure dolls, a large part of which came from various church nativity scenes. **Easter Nativities** In addition to the Wagon Nativity and the Steyr Nativity, there are also Easter Nativities from Haslach for both large and small visitors to admire. The depictions are mechanically animated and show scenes from the life of Jesus as well as Stations of the Cross. During the Advent season and the time before Easter, interactive stations await children and families in the exhibition. Group visits are possible year-round by prior arrangement.
