However, the mountain is a nature reserve because of its no less impressive stand of beech forests. Hikers who tackle the ascent to the "three crosses" from Weyer walk through mixed forests dominated by the copper beech. While this tree, which is actually characteristic of native forests, has been replaced by fast-growing spruces in many places, it still dominates the forest here on the Kreuzberg. But the beech trees are not the only botanical speciality of this nature reserve. The poisonous cyclamen with its red flowers, snow roses and the black-stemmed striped fern also grow on the Kreuzberg. **Public transport:** The Ennstalbahn runs between Linz and Weißenbach-St. Gallen.
