Laussa lies in a quiet **side valley of the Enns**, at the transition to the Northern Limestone Alps - a place where nature, history and movement come together. The valley in Upper Austria's Enns Valley is regarded as **"ancient cultural ground** " - people were already living here as farmers, hunters and fishermen in the Neolithic Age. The name "Laussa", first mentioned in a document in 1260, is derived from the Middle High German word for "hiding place" or "lurker" and refers to the secluded location of the village.
