In the forest cinema, fascinating footage of ancient forests, inaccessible gorges, lynxes, the alpine longhorn beetle, and black storks can be seen. In the large diorama, the diversity of the wild forest has been brought into the house. You can see lynxes, deer, badgers, and foxes, as well as the forest birds down to the smallest insects in the leaf branches and under the tree bark. Hidden under wooden flaps are the feeding traces of bark beetles & co., and you will learn the difference between wood eaters and wood eater eaters. You will find out how tall the tallest tree in the national park is and how old trees can become if they are allowed to age as nature intends. We will introduce you to the bush drummers of the wild forest, and at the woodpecker xylophone, you can try to drum as quickly as a woodpecker. In the forest cinema, you will immerse yourself in the magical landscape of the Reichraminger Hintergebirge with the fascinating nature film "On the Way to Wilderness": secluded gorges, diverse forests, with black storks, bears, and lynxes as the main characters. In the outdoor area, the experience box "Wilderness in the Ground" is available. Here, you will venture into a hidden world three centimeters below the soil surface. You will come face to face with hundredfold enlarged soil creatures: predatory stoneflies, peaceful earthworms, pill bugs, and sap beetles - all for touching, if you dare! After about 500 meters, turn right onto Steyrtalstraße. After the tunnel in Grünburg, turn right after 100 meters towards Ternberg and follow the road to its end. There, turn right onto the Eisenbundesstraße B115 and follow it until you reach the visitor center on the right between Reichraming and Großraming. From Windischgarsten, drive over the Hengstpass to the end where you turn right. Now follow the B117 to the end and turn left onto the Eisenbundesstraße B115. Between Großraming and Reichraming, you will find the visitor center on the left.
