You will receive background information about the history of the Stodertal, the life-threatening work of the woodworkers, the alpine development history of the Dead Mountains, and the evolution of skiing from its beginnings to the World Cup. The modern museum building – constructed in 1998 – suggests from the outside that no dusty “local museum” awaits the visitor, but rather historical and current videos and acoustic effects. Establishing connections from the past to the present is the fundamental concept of the Alpineum with its extremely extensive collection of historical and contemporary exhibits. In an entertaining way, the past comes alive for the visitor through exciting text and image design, creating an experience. Let yourself be surprised.
